Etching
What is etching?
Etching is a process that uses chemicals to corrode metal and form shapes. It is very similar to small parts made by progressive-die stamping of thin sheets. The method is free of burrs that are unavoidable with stamping, and it excels at processing ultra-thin sheet thicknesses.
What is the minimum processing dimension?
Approximately 150% of the plate thickness. The minimum plate thickness can be processed down to about 60-70μm.
What is the minimum processing dimension?
Approximately 150% of the plate thickness. The minimum plate thickness can be processed down to about 60-70μm.
What is the dimensional accuracy?
The baseline is ±0.015mm at t0.1mm. Dimensional accuracy varies depending on plate thickness. For more details, please check the processing accuracy.
What plate thicknesses can be processed?
Approximately 0.03-0.5mm is our standard range. Other thicknesses can be considered on a prototype basis. For more details, please check the processing accuracy.
What materials can be processed?
Our most standard material is SUS. In addition, copper and nickel can also be etched. Aluminum requires special etching. Other metals can be etched on a trial basis, so please feel free to consult us.
PET Encoder Scale
What is the minimum processable slit width?
We have a mass production track record starting from a minimum of 35μm.
What is the dimensional accuracy?
Slit width ±3μm, pitch width ±2μm.
What are the effects under high temperatures?
Basically, the characteristics of the PET material remain as they are. Shape changes under high heat and dimensional changes under high temperatures will occur. Please contact us separately for detailed data.
About Standards
What ISO certifications have been obtained?
ISO 14001 is certified. ISO 9001 is not certified at our site, but our head office is certified. Our production system follows the head office standard. We have not obtained any certifications related to automotive.
What about compliance with environmental regulations?
We comply with RoHS and REACH.
Etching
What is the cost structure for etching products?
The initial cost consists of the master plate fee, and then the per-unit product price. The master plate can be used semi-permanently, so basically no additional cost is incurred afterwards.
How much does etching cost?
It varies depending on production volume and size, but is generally more expensive than stamped products. However, no tooling cost is required as an initial expense. Because multiple pieces are printed on a single sheet using the master plate, there may be a cost advantage at moderate quantities.
How much does the master plate cost?
It depends on the accuracy required for the product, but please estimate approximately 15,000 THB.
What factors affect the cost?
Basically, it comes down to the plate thickness and the size of the product. Thinner and smaller products are more suited to etching.
PET Scale
What is the cost structure for PET scale products?
Master plate fee + outer-shape die + inner-diameter die (wheel type only) + per-unit product price. Since the printed PET sheet is die-cut, a separate tooling cost is required.
How much does a PET scale cost?
The main comparisons are with glass scales and etched scales. Compared to either, PET scales have an overwhelming advantage in unit price. Their accuracy is also comparable to that of glass scales. However, heat resistance and tooling cost are their drawbacks.
About Delivery and Lead Time
Please tell us about the delivery schedule.
Basically, we follow the process of quotation → prototype → mass production. Please estimate about 30 days for prototyping and about 45-60 days for delivery of the first mass-production lot. For mass production thereafter, we will determine the schedule after separate consultation, aligned with the customer's schedule.
About the delivery method
Our company is located in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Within Thailand, we transport overland using partner carriers. Within the same province, we transport using our own vehicles.
